Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) Certified Chiropractic Spinal Trauma (C.C.S.T.) Certification in Chiropractic Clinical Neurology (C.C.C.N.)
Hello, I'm “Dr. J”, chiropractor and exercise physiologist. Born in Hollywood, California and the first of seven children taught me that each person is unique in their experience of life. There are infinite ways to approach and facilitate the inborn healing process present in each of us. Chiropractic is unique in its art, science and philosophy of healing that has helped many people recover true health and wellness.
My own athletic experiences and injuries led me to chiropractic during my college years. I was a competitive distance runner for 15 years with numerous wins in California and “retiring” with a top fifteenth finish at Pikes Peak Ascent in 1986. Chiropractic kept me “running” (literally) by enhancing recovery, maximizing biomechanical efficiency, accelerating healing and decreasing spinal stress. Chiropractic also helped me during my transition into competitive women's bicycle racing that same year. In 1988, I competed at the Olympic Cycling Trials in Spokane, Washington. Were it not for another significant event, my cycling career would have continued.
Two months after the Olympic Trials I had a serious rock climbing accident. Yet again, Chiropractic helped me recover. At this point I knew my life's calling. That year I enrolled in chiropractic school in Portland, Oregon. By 1992, I returned to Boulder to open Healing Touch Chiropractic with a mission to “optimize life expression one spine at a time".
My approach embraces principles of exercise physiology, bio-mechanics of movement, customized adjustive techniques, and state-of-the-art FDA approved low level laser therapy (3LT™). Cold light laser therapy has been shown to reduce pain and inflammation while maximizing muscle strength and joint range of motion (for more information on cold lasers go to www.erchonia.com). Most importantly: listening to each unique history of my patients as their words reveal the secrets of healing. I look forward to learning how I may be of service to you!
